Switching from a cockpit view to an exterior view in FSX causes my setup to crash to the desktop immediately. If the aircraft's engine is not running, view changes happen normally. Problem only occurs during view change; if the view is external during startup, aircraft idles normally until a view change is attempted, then the simulator crashes immediately. The same is true when the engine is started from an interior view, then a change to exterior view is attempted.

ANSWER:
If you are using a Saitek switch panel (which requires an FSX plugin to work properly) is probably causing the issue.
