After days of trying to fix SYN VIS I tried the fix here and it worked great.  It solved three different error messages, NO LIC, TERR TEST, and ERROR 11.

The fix lasted one day only.  Now the PFD displays the NO LIC error and there is no synthetic vision.

This is getting absurd.  SVS doesn't install the correct dll and ini for SVS????  Really???

The Dropbox fix opens but can't copy and paste the files.  There is no instructions for P3Dv4 which of course has a different folder tree than STeam.

Come on guys.  Fix the installation file so it works or explain clearly what can be done to get SVS working corrrectly?

Uninstalled, reinstalled, does not work anymore . . Why cant Carenado get this right?

After getting the program working many times due to the message TER ERR, I now get the message NO LIC.
According to the documentation, this means that your serial number to carenado.com service has expired.
Furthermore, the document states that you can fix this by running svs.
I've tried this a few times but it doesn't work.
    Who knows the solution?

I'm about ready to give up on getting this to work. I've contacted support many times. Tried everything they said to do, but nothing. My P3Dv4 it on my D: drive.  I don't have the Cessna from Carenado, I just have the DA62.  When I start the plane I get the error=740 you have to start manually.  Then after I start it I have the TER ERR on the display and nothing works.  I've downloaded the fix ran the FSX-RTM,  I'm running out of things to try.

OK. go to windows defender F/W in control panel (allow app through windows F/W ) and

    allow the following:

    Carenado_G1000_SVS
    Carenado_WebSimConnect
    Prepar3D.exe

Win defender is not allowing file through firewall.

not working in P3D4.5 , I did everything step by step as in the tutorialand looked at the forum for recommendations.I've been working on this all day and no more bothering, especially when reading forum recommendations, everyone tries as they can and there is still no result, consequently just a very raw product which does not work for many.As the product has been out for years, no one has been able to fix it and therefore I have no hope of making it work and at the same time, this product is very expensive so I'm going to ask for the money back and forget SVS.

Does not work with v5 and never worked with previous versions of P3D.

    "allow the following through f/w:"

    Carenado_G1000_SVS ------------ where to find?
    Carenado_WebSimConnect------- this one...gauges/Carenado_Web_Simconnect/WebSimSVS?
    Prepar3D.exe ------- only clear path....

Also I had to install msvcr100.dll and msvcp.100.dll

In the tray there are 2 programs running. First automatically with P3D "Caranado Synthetic vison started". The second says "WebSimConnectServer", but only after I start it manually with "WebSimSVS"

I installed above patch without success.Turning off Windows Defender and Antivirus completely does not help either. Always have the TER error.

Ok.  Let me rephrase my question.  How does one remove SVS from P3Dv4.5 and FSX-SE please.  I couldn't find any "uninstall" file...but I'm sure one is there?

    Thanks.

(How does one remove SVS from)  U can reinstall, then uninstall. And here the location:

    C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4.5

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\  FSX or some like this

    I got SVS working in P3D v5

All people using P3Dv5 will need to check and maybe add this to their p3dv5 dll.xml to actually work:

    <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>WebSimXML</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>.\WebSimBrowser\2.1\64\WebSimXML.dll</Path>
    </Launch.Addon>

Hi, Where is the (p3dv5 dll.xml) file

  • David Woodford

    Mr Google say:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5

i mean, you could have just searched using file manager if Googling ‘prepar3d dll.xml’ was too hard:

Now now David.  Be cool...  Any thread like this pertaining to non-functioning SVS is very stressful for those who have bought it years ago and it still doesn't supply a solution or update to the SVS package!?  Likewise for those intrepid enough to buy p3dv5 right at release date!!

Has Carenado ever explained why so many have such enduring trouble with SVS?  Lot's of potential solutions, but as one can see, they don't work for everyone...including me.  (I consider myself of above average intelligence, but this has me flumixed...

they did reply. the reply was basically:

‘it works but if it doesnt its not our fault goodbye’

    so i fixed it myself

I assume you’ve altered your firewall port and u can see the c working in the system tray and you can see syn vis in the mfd - but nothing happens when you type it. that’s because the dll.xml for v5 doesnt get altered to tell Prepar3d where to look. That’s what my little bit of xml does. that’s it.

It could easily be fixed with a Carenado.bat file and i told them, but they can’t be bothered to issue it and are entirely consumed with making pretty planes full of avionics errors for FS2020 and dont have time or inclination to do even the bare minimum for existing customers.

    Now THAT is funny David!

On a positive note, I had an issue with both VORs in the Skylane C182Fpackage last Friday, and they responded in 24hrs with a fix that worked fine.  I truly believe they have no idea how to fix SVS, so are just hoping these threads just die off some day...as you say, if it's really that easy, why not just fix it and their reputation for quality improves by a BIG factor?

frankly the 182 from the comanche producing rival is a work of art and much better support anyway. I mean, i just flew 1000 miles in the Carenado Malibu today. Yesterday I was in a real Piper for a lesson.. today ifr in the 500 and it worked well.. syn vis worked fine.. obviously not perfectly: navigraph addon actually breaks it.. for example it defaults the cabin pressure to 25000ft (not too good if you don’t notice)

but i love the rival’s products more.. even when my son accidentally reloads a cold and dark, smashes it into a city and bends the ‘accusim’ airframe for the 10th time.

Check this post out. Solved the TERR ERR issue in both v4 and v5 for me.

    Good luck!
